Freedom of the Press Alerts Nicaragua and the organization Lawyers Defenders of the People, through social networks, denounced that the journalist Elsbeth D´Andadirector of the program La Cobertura, broadcast on Channel 23, has been detained for 17 days by order of the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship.
They detailed that the arrest occurred on October 27, around 3 in the afternoon, at the communicator’s home, where at least five patrols arrived, with about 20 Ortega Police officers, who raided the home and detained him. with violence.

The defenders mentioned that the reasons for the arrest could be linked to the latest program La Cobertura, in which the communicator addressed an issue related to increases in the prices of the basic basket during the end-of-year holidays and payment of the bonus.
