Coronavirus in Uruguay: 17 deaths, 3,396 new cases and 133 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Friday 3,396 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 11,450 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae).

What’s more, there were 17 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 55 and 96 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,949 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 27,295 active cases across the country and 133 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total active cases, 413 correspond to health personnel.

Of the 3,396 new cases, 1,551 are from Montevideo, 586 from Canelones, 218 from Maldonado, 100 from Colonia, 86 from Florida, 85 from San José, 77 from Salto, 75 from Tacuarembo, 72 from Paysandú, 62 from Cerro Largo, 62 from Durazno, 61 from Lavalleja, 59 from Río Negro, 58 from Treinta y Tres, 57 from Rocha, 55 from Rivera, 46 from Soriano, 44 ​​from Flores and 42 from Artigas.
