Some 25,000 students are called to elect their representatives in the different student centers and the Federation of University Centers (FCU) in the elections with two main planks: Save the U and All for the U. The rector of the UCV, Víctor Rago, denied this Friday that there is any reason for the scheduled student elections to be suspended and highlighted in an interview for Venevisión that they must be held so that the alternation is respected.
Jesús Mendoza, president of the FCU-UCV, pointed out the day before that voting “is an exercise of autonomy” and that it must be highlighted during the elections, since this shows that the university continues to be a space for democracy. and plurality.
“University students have to come and set an example, they have to vote, it is a totally transparent process, led by an electoral commission that called this process in June and that has made all its efforts to make it the most transparent as possible,” he highlighted.
