Martinelli appeals ruling that lifts his electoral jurisdiction

The lawyer Niurka Palacios, part of the defense of former president Ricardo Martinelli, filed an appeal against the ruling of the Second Administrative Electoral Court, which through edict 03-2022 of February 23, 2022 lifted the electoral criminal jurisdiction of the former president for the cases New Business and Odebrecht.

¨The documentation was delivered, it was reviewed, now the admission and all the proceedings before the Tribunal correspond¨, he said, expressing that it will be the magistrates of the Electoral Tribunal who must decide in this case.

The magistrates will have eight business days to resolve the appeal and decide whether to maintain the decision of the Second Administrative Court or whether Martinelli remains with the electoral criminal jurisdiction.
