The MAS deputy, Rolando Cuéllar, from the “arcista” wing, together with his lawyer, appeared this Thursday at the Departmental Prosecutor’s Office of Tarija to present a memorial in which they demand an arrest warrant against former President Evo Morales and the mother of his alleged victim.
Cuéllar did so in application of articles 151 and 158 of the Regulations of the Lower House, which are related to legislative oversight.
“We see that there is delay of justice. We are requesting the arrest warrant against Evo Morales, for the crimes of rape, human trafficking and we are expanding to rape,” declared the parliamentarian.
Likewise, he raised a immigration alert and red seal notification to Interpol to prevent the departure of the former president of the country.
The request for an arrest warrant is also against the mother of the alleged victim, according to Cuéllar, for handing over her minor daughter – when the girl was 15 years old – to Morales.
The Departmental Prosecutor’s Office of Tarija has a period of five days to respond to the legal memorial presented by the Santa Cruz parliamentarian.
On Wednesday the 13th, two deputies from the Citizen Community (CC) and one from the MAS, from the “arcist” wing, They questioned the delay of prosecutor Sandra Gutiérrez in issuing the arrest warrant against Evo Morales, after she declared that there are “sufficient indications and evidence” to issue it.
