Four forest fires remain active in the Piura mountains, especially affecting the provinces of Ayabaca and Huancabamba.
Since Tuesday, residents, without access to water, have fought the flames using branches and shovels. So far, the fire has consumed nearly one hundred hectares of grasslands and corn crops, further complicating the situation in these difficult-to-access areas.
The population has requested urgent support from both the regional government and the Central Government to control the fires and mitigate the damage.
