Venezuela and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in an event that was chaired by the Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Asian country’s embassy, Han Song Guk.
“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we are pleased to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” the Minister for Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday through his social media accounts.
Furthermore, he assured that this is a significant milestone that represents respect, friendship and bilateral cooperation, reiterating the firm willingness to continue strengthening relations for mutual benefit and to promote an enriching cultural exchange between both peoples.
The commemoration event was held at the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre in Caracas, where diplomat Han Song Guk expressed his gratitude to those who made possible “this joyful and significant moment to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.”
“There have been 50 years of official relations, but the history of brotherhood and solidarity of the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela They date back to the 1950s, 70 years ago, when the brother Venezuelan people raised their voices against aggression and the Korean war,” he declared, quoted by the Foreign Ministry.
Likewise, he highlighted the alliances established as a result of the work carried out by both countries, including agreements, memorandums and high-level visits.
