In Paraguay They don’t want to see t-shirts Leo Messi at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asunción, where tomorrow Thursday the Paraguayan national team faces Argentina in a World Cup qualifying match. No one wearing a shirt of the Argentine star will be allowed entry. From none of their teams: Argentina, FC Barcelona, PSG and Inter Miami.
“Fans wearing shirts of the Argentine national team, Barça, PSG or Inter Miami, with Messi’s name on the back, will not be able to access the stadium,” said Fernado Villasboa, manager of the Paraguayan soccer federation about the controversial average. The ban also extends to all Argentine teams and players who are not from Paraguay.
“No one will be able to wear a shirt of the Argentine national team, of Argentine clubs or of clubs with names of players from other countries. We want to paint Defensores del Chaco with the colors of the Albirroja, so that the players feel the support of the stands,” adds Villasboa. One of the main reasons for the ban is to guarantee the security of the stadium to avoid possible fights, inside and outside of it.
