AN sanctions second discussion of the Communal Justice of the Peace reform law

“The second discussion of the Partial Reform Bill of the Organic Law of Communal Peace Justice is approved by a qualified majority, I greet and congratulate the people of Venezuela, the communal power, the communal councils, the communes and the representatives of the sectors of our people that have been consulted,” expressed the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, during the ordinary session held this Tuesday at the Federal Legislative Palace.

Rodríguez urged that this norm must reach the entire country. “This law must reach every corner, every town; Let us monitor the peremptory approval of its regulations, after it is promulgated by the President of the Republic,” Nicolás Maduro said.

“Let us monitor its applicability, we are certain that this law will be fundamental in the process of cleaning up and revolutionizing the judiciary,” insisted the head of the Venezuelan parliament.

The president of the AN invited representative Jeny Verdura Tomedes, from the Hugo Chávez Frías de Baruta commune (Miranda state), Keila de la Rosa Martínez from Rogelio Castillo Gabarra and Heriberto Méndez Martínez from the socialist Fe commune to receive “the law already sanctioned” by the legislative branch, he expressed.

The law, discussed by the AN deputies, consists of 48 articles, 3 transitional provisions and a single transitional provision.

It should be noted that for this Tuesday the second discussion would continue regarding the Partial Reform Law Project of the Organic Law of Communal Peace Justice. This proposal aims to organize the community peace justice system, modifies and establishes aspects related to the instances of organization and operation in the communal territories.

Among other regulations promoted by the Legislative Branch, there are reforms to the Organic Law of Electoral Processes and the Organic Law of Political Parties, whose restructuring is scheduled for December 15; and are aimed at preventing political agents hostile to Venezuela from exploiting democratic processes in their favor, AVN said.
