The contract for the sale of a premises of the Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (Edeeste) to the Ministry of Education (Minerd) involves the sum of RD$375 million pesos.
The property, located on Bolívar Avenue on the corner of García Godoy Street, in the National District, has an area of 1,304.92 square meters and will be used by the Ministry of Education for office installation.
Celso Marranzini, president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) and the Minister of Education, Ángel Hernández, signed the contract that closes the operation yesterday.
Marranzini said that it is a building to be finished, but that the sum invested by Education includes the installation of the elevators, the floors, the power plant and the furniture, which has already been purchased.
This is an improvement under construction that includes a building with six levels of offices and three levels of underground parking, with a first access level with a lobby, four elevators and three stairs.

Marranzini highlighted the importance of the operation for both institutions.
He said that the resources obtained will allow the electric company to improve distribution lines and purchase the necessary materials to improve the service it offers to the population.
Minister Hernández expressed that it is useful for Minerd to have a large building, which allows the offices that are outside of Minerd’s headquarters to be reunited, which will also help achieve better management of the Education sector.
“So, for us, what has been achieved with this negotiation is fundamental,” he emphasized. The operation took place in the presence of Minerd’s legal consultant, Nelson Rudys Castillo Ogando.
