Since the weekend, complaints have circulated about alleged transfers of at least 60 political prisoners held for the protests in Yare III to the prisons of Tocorón (Aragua) or Tocuyito (Carabobo). «Since Saturday night they have been awaiting the transfers. On Sunday, they (the detainees) called saying that they were going to be transferred but they don’t know exactly where. We are distressed because we don’t know when it will happen,” a mother told the Venezuelan Prison Observatory.

Monday, November 11 Visits were recorded normally in Yare III. “We are waiting for them to be transferred after the visits, but we don’t have more information, we have to ask God,” commented another mother of a detainee.
Justice, Encuentro y Perdón and the Observatory recalled that the State is responsible for the physical and mental integrity of people deprived of liberty in the country. In addition, it was noted that the Ministry of Penitentiary Service must inform the name of each of the detainees and the place where they will be transferred, with prior authorization from a judge.
