The guilds and formal and representative organizations of the commercial emporium of Gamarra announced that they will open their businesses normally on November 14, 15 and 16 during the forum APEC.
“This is a forum in which the leaders of the 21 main economies of the Asia Pacific will come to Peru, putting the country at the center of the world agenda, making Gamarra the main productive and commercial engine of Peru in the clothing line we have the opportunity to show the world the capacity and productive force that Peru has,” the statement says.
It is explained that this decision is due to the fact that, in this month of the year, Gamarra is in the middle of the Christmas wholesale campaign, which is the main one of the year and which represents more than 50% of the annual sale: “Given the losses recorded during the year, these months represent the last chance of survival for the more than 30,000 mypes that work in the emporium, for its suppliers and the more than 100,000 jobs they generate.
Merchants report that “From Gamarra we have marched for the second consecutive year and we have been the first sector in the country to take to the streets to demand effective measures against insecurityTherefore, we express our solidarity with each of the Peruvians who have been victims of this scourge and we urge the authorities to urgently implement effective measures against mafias and organized crime.
