López Aliaga demands the resignation of José Arista for bad investments: "He should have gone home a while ago."

López Aliaga

During the inauguration of the Ignacio Cossío park in The Victorythe mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML), Rafael Lopez Aliagaattacked him Minister of Economy, José Arista Arbildo, accusing him of making bad investments and ineffectively managing the country’s resources.

In his speech, López Aliaga urged Arista to resign from his position and questioned the allocation of budgets for essential projects, highlighting the lack of support from the Central Government in critical areas such as security.

The mayor of Lima criticized the recent decision of the Ministry of Economy to allocate 750 million dollars to Petroperú, a company that, according to him, faces negative operating margins and is mired in financial problems.

“That Minister of Economy should have gone home a while ago because he continues to put a billion dollars into Petroperú every semester. “It is an affront to Peru that he continues to be a minister and continues to invest in a bankrupt company,” he pointed out.

López Aliaga also expressed concern about the lack of resources for security in Lima, one of the most urgent problems facing the city.

In his speech, he highlighted that the money allocated by the MML to the purchase of motorcycles for the Peruvian National Police (PNP) has become a priority to face growing insecurity, due to the lack of financial support from the Executive. “How many times have I requested a budget for security and how much is there for that? Zero,” the mayor stated.

Furthermore, the mayor expressed his rejection of the Chief of Staff, Gustavo Adrianzén, criticizing the Executive’s position regarding the situation in the country.

“Our philosophy is based on filling politics with rivers of love, not rivers of blood. That message that has been sold to us for a long time, from the Prime Minister of Peru“, driving blood among Peruvians, that is not done, that is a crime, a crime,” declared López Aliaga.

With these statements, the mayor of Lima made his position clear regarding the management of Dina Boluarte’s government.
