Guadalupe, Zac., At the inauguration of Family Medicine Unit 58, in this municipality, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo warned that “as long as our people are fed with food scrapwe are not going to be healthy” and called on the population to recognize the importance of healthy food.

Our goal is that in 2030, when we leave the government of the Republic, we will have reduced the prevalence of diabetes and hypertension; that all Mexicans are affiliated with the National Public Health System and have access to the service, from prevention to care for the most complicated diseasesaid President Sheinbaum.

Zoé Robledo, general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), indicated that around 14 percent of all the loss of years of healthy life is related to heart disorders, chronic kidney disease and some types of communicable diseases, given the which the answer is a preventive model.

He explained that almost 80 percent of the family medicine consultations in the IMSS, of the almost 300 thousand throughout the country, are for patients with chronic-degenerative conditions. Again: diabetes, hypertension.

To the joy of the attendees, the President reported that the federation will build a tertiary hospital in Guadalupe.

Yesterday, he added, We made that decision, and as we build this hospital, we make all the family units work so that they can work on weekends..

He mentioned that it’s not easy rebuilding the institutions after the neoliberal period, but, he stressed, that is the essence of the Fourth Transformation.

Then he issued the warning about food scrap: As long as Mexican men and women do not recognize what feeding with cornfields means, healthy eating, then we will continue to have diabetes, hypertension.

Prior to this act, a little boy hand-delivered a letter to him to tell him that his family is about to lose their home, after Altos Hornos de México – a company already declared bankrupt – fired his father three months ago.

Mr. Marco Antonio Olague Carrillo said that 10 years ago he obtained his home in this municipality with a loan from the Institute of the National Fund for Workers’ Housing (Infonavit) for 508 thousand pesos. The debt increased to 650 thousand to date, because the steel company stopped paying the organization at least 18 months ago.

“I went to Infonavit, but I owe a lot. It’s an endless credit… I can’t sleep, because I don’t know where I’m going to go with my family… I would like to see if the president can give us help. I don’t have a job and I feel totally overwhelmed,” he expressed on the verge of tears.

In the letter he asks the president to help him restructure the credit or access a new payment plan.
