Face to face

Evism’s emergency expansion ended with a stop, as to not see themselves defeated. However, they revealed the doubt about the muscles they have to face a march towards La Paz and another to Sucre “to take over the Constitutional Court.” The requests end at the same point: that Evo Morales be allowed to be a presidential candidate in 2025. They ratify that the congress in which he was proclaimed is legal and that it should be recognized, but that sounds more like a sectarian imposition than a concrete possibility. Was it a defeat for this masist faction? Judging by the facts, it seems that it was a lost battle against the Government of Luis Arce, which is not synonymous with the disappearance of the social conflicts that embitter the country.

With the blockades over, the fuel shortage remains. The lines are still as long as last week. The government response is, for now, a promise that the problem will disappear in ten days. But that period seems like an eternity for the sectors that endure paralysis in their activities. The shadow of food insecurity darkens the horizon. The Government says that the tankers are coming. Next Friday the meeting between the president and the rural producers will be held. The latter no longer want offers or commitments, they want decisions and it is in the hands of the president to make them or not.

Former presidential spokesperson Jorge Richter believes that the problems will continue and that the economic crisis will not have a definitive solution during this government. Because? Well, because he sees that ideological dogmatism continues to prevail.
