The Undersecretary of Economic and Financial Policy of the Ministry of Transport, Carlos Vittor, stated that the transfer of public transport to the City of Buenos Aires should not have any more delays.
“The issue does not give for more delay in terms of contributing to the financing of the public passenger transport system,” Vittor said in statements to Télam Radio.
The official recalled that the representatives of the Ministry “were very forceful in the meeting this Thursday because the City of Buenos Aires is the only jurisdiction that does not put a weight on the public service of passenger transport.”
Although he indicated that the dialogue “is with technical advances,” he warned that “delays are perceived in other aspects that are significant, such as taking charge of the financing of the City lines, leaving aside a mechanism that had been in practice and that the government of (Horacio) Rodríguez Larreta abandoned completely”.
“Since 2018 they had promised to take over the financing of the transportation system of the City of Buenos Aires and they are failing in this matter,” Vittor said in dialogue with Télam Radio.
