EDEEste installs new 50 MVA transformer in Los Mina

EDEEste instala nuevo transformador de 50 MVA en Los Mina

Santo Domingo. – The Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (EDEEste) installed a 50 MVA transformer at the Los Mina Substation, in Santo Domingo Este.

This effort, which includes the incorporation of a modern Medium Voltage cell container, will resolve the overload in the transformers and the network, thus reinforcing the electrical infrastructure in the area.

The installation of the transformer is part of EDEEste’s efforts to update and optimize its network, allowing it to efficiently meet the growth in energy demand in the region.

With this work, the total power of the substation will increase to 150 MVA, thanks to the joint operation of three transformers of 50 MVA each. This expansion in installed capacity will allow a more robust and efficient electricity supply, optimizing the response to current and future energy demands in this location.

The investment of RD$170 million in this project will benefit 108,890 families in Santo Domingo Este, residents in sectors such as: Alma Rosa I and II, Villa Faro, El Rosal, Ensanche Ozama, Urb. Italia, Nuevo Sol Naciente, INVI Los Mina, Las Palmas de Alma Rosa, Mi Hogar, Las Américas, San Lorenzo, Los Mina Viejo, Los Tres Brazos, among others, who will benefit from a more stable and secure service.
