After leading the graduation ceremony of 1,016 new agents of the Basic Police Training Course in the Espaillat province, President Luis Abinader affirmed that the Reform of the National Police is necessary and fundamental for the security, tranquility and democracy of the country.

“This reform will continue working so that we have one of the most professional Police Forces in Latin America, where we can continue improving the living conditions of the agents, and the way to guarantee the safety of our citizens,” said the president.

The agents who received their titles were trained at the Gaspar Hernández Police Training School, where the event took place.

The graduates are from classes 141 “Juan Pablo Duarte” and 142 “Matías Ramón Mella”. Yesterday was the first graduation of the Reform and it is made up of 769 agents who will go on preventive patrol and 247, of these 186 women and 61 men, go in the Digesett.

“The country, the Government, its people and the entire Dominican Republic expect a lot from you, the new agents, and we are sure that you will comply with those objectives and with that aspiration that the country has to improve, and that, the police officers of the reform, as they call you, be an example of compliance, transparency, honesty and efficiency,” said President Abinader.

Last Saturday the president visited the María Trinidad Sánchez province where in a meeting with representatives of neighborhood associations, agricultural producers and civil society he reported that between 2025-2026 “the construction of the Nagua market for RD$180 million and the dam are being evaluated. of Boba II to contain floods in the Las Gordas district, for RD$150 million.”

Another work inaugurated by the president was the renovated Doctor Virgilio García municipal hospital, in the Cabrera municipality, made with an investment of RD$144 million and which is estimated to benefit 32,000 inhabitants.

It also delivered the Jochy Gil indoor sports center, in Nagua, for the practice of basketball, volleyball and soccer and which has an outdoor gym available to the public free of charge.

Together with Josefa Castillo, director of Inaipi, President Abinader inaugurated the Caipi Gaspar Hernández, which they expect will accommodate 250 boys and girls from 0 to 5 years old and will provide comprehensive care to 368 infants.
