Pinabete: ninth body recovered

The Unified Command of the El Pinabete mine reported the recovery of the remains corresponding to the ninth miner who died due to a collapse that occurred in August 2022.

The authorities announced that 147 days after the start of the second phase of underground search and recovery work, yesterday at 11:49 a.m. they were recovered the human remains corresponding to the ninth of the 10 trapped miners, which were located on November 4.

The above, with the application of the Biological Findings Recovery Protocol, implemented by the Unified Command, which is made up of the National Coordination of Civil Protection, the Federal Electricity Commission, the Secretariat of National Defense and the State Attorney General’s Office. from Coahuila de Zaragoza.

The remains have been safeguarded by the local prosecutor’s office so that the genetic identification processes can be carried out, and the results can be informed, in due course, to the corresponding relatives.

The authorities indicated that excavation work continues constantly in the areas detected by specialists as having the highest probability of discovery.
