Cases like that of Sofia Delgadoin Villagorgona (Valle del Cauca); the one of Alexis Delgadoin San Cayetano (Cundinamarca); and that of two minors murdered allegedly by their own father in Engativá (Bogotá), have shocked the country in recent months, due to the way in which their perpetrators attacked the lives of two children aged 12, 2, 4 and 7 years old. age, respectively.

The first culprit and confessed murderer, Brayan Campo, had a history of child sexual abuse and inexplicably enjoyed freedom. For his part, the person implicated in the disappearance and death of Alexis Delgado is the husband of the minor’s aunt who had custody of the child Alexis Delgado. Meanwhile, the aggressor of her two children had a history of reception and domestic violence.

Several questions arise regarding the actions of those responsible for these crimes. In the case of Sofía Delgado Why was the aggressor freed from another case of abuse before? With what happened to the child Alexis Delgado the question arises: Why didn’t his mother have custody of the minor? Now, is the judicial system in Colombia acting well?

Although both the Prosecutor’s Office and other institutions have tried to justify their responses based on the law and an alleged congestion of the justice system in Colombia, the truth is that while the State continues to look for solutions to these difficulties, the lives of many children in Colombia continue. running danger.

Reforms to justice, bills that favor the protection of children and adolescents in Colombia and mechanisms that allow the early identification of missing minors are what Colombians who are tired of the actions of abusers and criminals are looking for. They are waiting to stalk their victims, who are mostly between the ages of 6 and 12.
