PF indicts Pablo Marçal for false report against Guilherme Boulos

The Federal Police indicted the candidate for São Paulo mayor Pablo Marçal (PRTB), for having used a false document with the aim of harming one of his opponents, the candidate Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) in this year’s municipal elections. The illegitimate report was shown by Marçal on his social media profiles, two days before the first round, and said that his opponent received treatment for using illicit drugs.

This was not the first time that Marçal attacked Boulos’ image. In August, in a debate held by the television channel Band, the digital influencer also attacked his opponent by associating him with the habit of consuming drugs, through a gesture with his hands, which simulated someone snorting cocaine.

In a statement, Pablo Marçal stated that the speed with which he was indicted was calculated to harm right-wing politicians and candidates. “It is clear how the speed of moral judgment for those who identify with the right is significantly faster. I have never witnessed such a swift response to an investigation like this. The incident happened on October 4th and the indictment was carried out in just 34 hours. days, a true record”, he said.

“This leads us to believe that, in an even shorter time, we will be declared innocent. I continue to believe in justice, in Brazil and, above all, in our people!”, he amended.

Guilherme Boulos spoke about the development of the case on social media. “[O indiciamento] It’s just the first answer to fake news abject events that contaminated this year’s electoral dispute in the city of São Paulo”.

“I hope that the Court will act firmly regarding the criminal use of the public sector by Ricardo Nunes and the electoral crime committed by governor Tarcísio in the middle of the 2nd round vote”, he defended, referring to another attack, committed by Tarcísio de Freitas, who declared support for Nunes and said, when accompanying him on the campaign, that Boulos has links with the criminal faction Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC).

Both the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, and the Attorney General of the Union, Jorge Messias, understood that the attitude of the governor of São Paulo goes against the grain of democratic culture.

“Such behavior cannot be ignored by the competent authorities, especially with regard to preserving the integrity of the elections”, added Messias, in his account on X.

In the first round, there was a fierce dispute between Ricardo Nunes, Guilherme Boulos and Pablo Marçal, who received, respectively, 29.48%, 29.07% and 28.14% of the valid votes, according to the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo. Paul.
