PLD will hold sectional elections on Sunday, November 17, 2024

PLD realizará elecciones seccionales el domingo 17 de noviembre 2024

Thursday night closed the deadline established by the Organizing Commission of the X Ordinary Congress Reinaldo Pared Pérez so that the members of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) In the sections abroad they will process their aspirations to be members of the PLD Central Committee.

By resolution of the Commission of the 10th Congress, the date of the elections was set for Sunday, November 17, and the registration of aspirations from November 4 to 7.

Many of the candidates had formalized their registration for local level elections held on Sunday, October 20, which, in the case of the sectional elections, were postponed to Sunday, November 17.

When taking stock of the registration records, 88 members of the PLD registered, now proceeding to validate these documentation to determine whether or not they meet the requirements.

Resolution RES-COXCO-013-10-2024 reiterates what is expressed in the new Statutes of the PLD regarding the requirements to be a member of the Central Committee.

Firstly, to opt for a place in the PLD Central Committee, the applicant is required to show loyalty to the Party, leadership capacity, and be a member of the Party with a minimum duration of five uninterrupted years.

Also be or have been president of the Intermediate Committee, have been or be a member of the PLD leadership in the sections, have been a national activist, undersecretary or liaisons in sections or be coordinator of a union current or have been or be a delegate to a Board Municipal Electoral.

In the PLD elections to be held in the United States, Central, South America and the Caribbean, including Florida, as well as European countries, on Sunday, November 17, 20 available seats on the Central Committee will be chosen.
