Within the framework of the annual Camacol congress, the Minister of the Interior, Juan Fernando Cristo, referred to the discussion that has been taking place around the project of financing law. According to the official, the Government hopes that in this last stretch of the legislature it can move forward with the debate.

“We hope that in this last month and a half, in this final stretch of the legislature, we will be able to discuss the reform”highlighted Minister Cristo.
The Mininterior also highlighted the importance that this proposal would have, especially considering the current fiscal situation that the country is going through. “I believe that the country deserves to discuss this issue, to put it on the agenda, to start the discussion, so that the government can explain the current circumstances”he pointed out.
To better dimension the topic, Cristo made reference to the panorama of the housing sectorwhich, for some time now, has been recording red indicators.
“They refuse to discuss a financing law that precisely seeks to ensure that the State has the resources to give a boost to the housing sector, which is fundamental for the national economy. To the extent that these 12 million pesos are missing “The country’s economic activity is going to be severely affected and many sectors could be stopped in 2025,” he explained.

Cristo indicated that he has been talking to the different parties in order to begin the discussion of this project. On the other hand, he mentioned that of not receiving approval Next year’s National Budget would have to be adjusted.
“If it is not approved, then simply at the beginning of January of next year, the budget will have to be cut as decreed by the National Government and those 12 billion pesos will have to be cut,” he explained.
It is worth remembering that what is also known as tax reform promoted by the Executive aims to collect 12 billion pesos in order to balance the amount of the General Budget of the Nation (PGN) for 2025.
