Two prisoners for defrauding relatives of prisoners

A man and a woman were arrested after being reported for offering benefits to prisoners held at police checkpoints in Zulia, according to military sources. One of the detainees is María José Medina Montiel (39), arrested in the Ajonjolí neighborhood, Maracaibo (Zulia).

And in the Ciudad Losada sector of the capital of Zulia, they detained Isaías Segundo Montiel Bracho (51), according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) No. 11.

According to the complaints made, these people were in charge of requesting foreign currency from the relatives of those deprived of liberty, held in the different preventive detention centers in the state of Zulia, in exchange for expediting the judicial process of the inmates.

Medina Montiel and Montiel Bracho were handed over to the Public Ministry where they opened a file for corruption, usurpation of functions and continued fraud.

In another procedure, three subjects allegedly involved in the kidnapping of rancher Hernán José López Luzardo were captured, who was held for five days until he was rescued last Monday on the banks of the Loro River, El Cruce sector, Jesús María Semprúm municipality (Casigua- The Cube), Zulia.

In this case, the detainees are identified as Elías Alfonso Correa Núñez and Omar Enrique Castillo Contreras.

These people were captured in the Santana sector, Machiques de Perijá municipality, Zulia, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas).

A 9 mm pistol, a pistol magazine and six unexploded 9 mm caliber cartridges were seized from the subjects.

Elías and Enrique are classified by Conas as the intellectual and material authors of the kidnapping perpetrated against the rancher that occurred on October 29.

The day the victim was rescued, through an operation carried out by Conas, three of the alleged participants in the kidnapping, identified as Jaime Luis Montiel, Rafael Santo Suárez Montiel and Sandra Correa Núñez, were detained.

Two industrially manufactured shotguns and a motorcycle were confiscated from this trio of detainees, according to a Conas report.

Regarding that same event, police officials located the body of a man also identified as participating in the kidnapping.

The shot body was lying in the El Cruce sector, Machiques de Perijá municipality. The identity of the murdered person is unknown until now.
