Chinese President Xi Jinping will come to Peru for the APEC summit

The Chinese president, Xi Jinpingwill travel next week to Peru and Brazil to participate in the summits of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC 2024) and the G20, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Asian country.

Xi will be in Lima from November 13 to 17 and then will travel to Rio de Janeiro, where he will stay until the 21st of that month, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said in a statement.

At the invitation of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, Xi “will attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and make a state visit,” says the brief text.

And in Brazil, invited by his counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, he will participate in the 19th G20 leaders’ summit and will also carry out an official visit.

Hours earlier, the White House had announced the presence of US President Joe Biden at both summits, before making way for the election winner Donald Trump in January.
