Carmelo Algarañaz, Luis Haquin and Miguel Terceros began training this Wednesday with the Bolivian team, which is getting ready for the 2026 World Cup Qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, to be played on Thursday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 19, respectively.

The three played for their respective clubs on Monday, but as Haquin and Terceros are active in Brazilian football, they arrived at the Green camp on Tuesday night, while Algarañaz, who plays in Greece, did so this Wednesday morning.

Haquin played in the match that Ponte Preta lost (1-2) against Paysandu, in the second division of Brazilian football; Terceros was also part of the Santos that defeated (2-1) Vila Nova, for the under-23 championship; and Algarañaz was in the draw (1-1) of his team, Kalamata FC, against AE Kifisia FC, for the second division of Greek football.

“Happy to be here again, I expressed it when I arrived, the fact of being with the group at home, with the national team, with the hope of doing things well and for the opportunity to train in this field, without a doubt it is important to try to make the most of our preparation,” said Luis Haquin.

The words of the Green captain were given in the mixed zone, before the training that the national team carried out this Wednesday afternoon on the Mariscal Braun field.

It is assumed that the three players will not travel to Guayaquil for the clash against Ecuador. Algarañaz, due to accumulation of yellow cards; Haquin, because it is in a chapel; and Third, because he recently recovered from a stomach infection that caused him to lose 6 kilos, but he has already recovered and even played for his team on Monday, although he did not do so the entire game.

“Personally, I mentioned it, one always has to be respectful and trust Professor Óscar’s strategy, because it will be the best for the group and one has to prioritize the group above anything, as a player one wants to always play. , but we know and are aware of the risk when playing a national team match and much more of that magnitude,” Haquin added.

With the incorporation of these three aforementioned players, Green coach Óscar Villegas has 25 players of the 30 that now make up the list. Until this Wednesday morning there were 31 players, but striker José Martines was left out of the national team due to an injury.

Roberto Carlos Fernández from Akron Tolyatti (Russia), Gabriel Villamil from Liga de Quito (Ecuador), Adalid Terrazas from USM Alger (Algeria), Boris Céspedes from Yverdon-Sport FC (Switzerland) and Lucas Chávez from Al Taawon (Switzerland) remain to join. Saudi Arabia).
