The Government of Venezuela sent more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid to Cuba this Wednesday, after the passage of hurricanes Óscar -last week- and Rafael, which are currently passing through the center of the island, reported the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil.
“Today we are allocating more than 300 tons that have been collected by the people of Venezuela to support, support and send a message of solidarity with our sister Republic of Cuba,” said Gil from the docks of the port in the state of Carabobo. where about 100 containers were arranged by the authorities heading to the island.
Gil explained that Cuba has been the victim of two hurricanes in recent times “today it is receiving a hurricane, Rafael, which is passing through the center of Cuba and a week ago Hurricane Oscar that caused some significant damage,” he indicated in that sense that Thanks to the civil protection system and its attention to the island, further damage was contained. “However, Venezuela’s solidarity expressed once again, in mutual cooperation,” he stressed.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez, expressed the gratitude of his Government and the Cuban people for the Venezuelan aid “to the people of Venezuela for this generous, noble gesture, a long-standing aid between our nations,” he said. .
He said that the aid will make it possible to mitigate the actions resulting from the climate effects that have caused families to be affected. “Love pays with love,” he said.
