Venezuela ratifies its peace diplomacy after Trump's electoral victory

The Government of President Nicolás Maduro congratulates the American people, after the presidential election day on Tuesday, November 5, as well as candidate Donald Trump, who was the winner.

Through a statement, published on Telegram by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, The National Government states that “Venezuela will always be willing to establish good relations with the US governments, framed in a spirit of dialogue, respect and common sense.”

Likewise, it ratifies its diplomacy of peace and dialogue.

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the people of the United States of America on the presidential elections held on November 5, 2024, and President-Elect Donald J. Trump for his victory in said process.

Venezuela will always be willing to establish good relations with the US governments, framed in a spirit of dialogue, respect and common sense.

The recognition of the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples are fundamental for the construction of a new world, where balance prevails among free nations.

The people of Venezuela share historical ties with the people of the United States, with whom we aspire to travel a path of peace and social justice, where war, exclusion, and discrimination have no place, and where cooperation and mutual respect between nations , be the standard of international relations.

With the spirit of the Liberator Simón Bolívar Venezuela ratifies its diplomacy of peace and dialogue.

On Tuesday, Republican candidate Donald Trump won the presidential election in the United States against his Democratic Party opponent, Kamala Harris, making him the 47th president of the United States.

The Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy of the National Government is based on the premise of doing politics for peace and at the service of the people. It was promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez and now by President Nicolás Maduro, as a method to achieve and promote world peace.
