The ruler Nicolás Maduro affirmed that Venezuela is part “historically” of the Brics, a twist to the accusations about Brazil’s veto of the country’s inclusion in that alliance, also led by Russia, China, India and South Africa

The ruler Nicolás Maduro assured that the Brics alliance represents “a new power equation”, especially economic, against “Western hegemony”; despite the fact that Venezuela was again left out as an associate member during the last meeting in Russia.

“Humanity is no longer inspired by the imperialist or European model, the decadent capitalist model (…) The West is deranged, it is lost and from the West itself a human, progressive alternative for change has not emerged,” Maduro said this Tuesday the 5th from the closing of the “world anti-fascist parliamentary forum”.

There is an element, he said, that is the emergence of “a new equation of power (…) symbolically representing great economic strength, in the Brics. And the Western economic elites react against these economic blocks.

He also stated that Venezuela is a “historical” part of the Brics, a twist to the accusations about Brazil’s veto of the country’s inclusion in that alliance, also led by Russia, China, India and South Africa. The non-inclusion of Venezuela as a full member led to a series of disagreements, which escalated to the diplomatic level, between the governments of Maduro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Again, he accused the United States of financing and supporting an attack against the country to “destroy” the so-called “Bolivarian revolution.” He also attacked Argentine President Javier Milei, whom he accused of being a “neofascist” and “Zionist.” He said that they are part of the actions promoted from Spain to intervene in Latin America.

At the close of the anti-fascist forum, Jorge Rodríguez, president of the 2020 National Assembly, said they worked in seven commissions to define fascism and “how it should be confronted.” From these working groups, he reported the creation of a “global anti-fascist network”, the formation of a “parliamentary observatory of countries attacked” by sanctions and imperialism, as well as an ALBA parliamentary network for “sovereignty and peace.” .

Ana María Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of Cuba, recalled that delegations from more than 60 countries participated. “We have said enough to fascism, we have said enough to neo-fascism, we have said enough to similar conduct that threatens the peace and sovereignty of our people.”

The Cuban parliamentarian accused the United States, which is holding elections today to elect a new president, of planning and promoting invasions and attacking people. «Every time our voices, representing our people, will be directed to concrete expressions (…) The blockade of Cuba, its inclusion in the list of facilitators of drug trafficking and coercive measures, as the brother people of Venezuela also have Therefore, the call is to action.
