Only three rojiblancos on the Argentine list

Argentina announced this Tuesday the list of those called up for the matches against Paraguay and Peru for the South American qualifying round 2026 World Cup. A list in which the Atlético de Madrid but in a lower dose than on other occasions.

For this international window, Lionel Scaloni has called from the red and white team Nahuel Molina, Rodrigo de Paul and Julian Alvarez. Three players who are key with the ‘albiceleste’ in recent years.

Three other players from the team have been left out. Atlético de Madrid as is the case of Juan Musso who had gone to the last calls, together with Giuliano Simeone who had gone to the first window and Angel Correa which has been common in the albiceleste’s plans although this campaign has not yet been called up.

On days 11 and 12, Argentina will face each other on Thursday the 14th Paraguay as a visitor to the stadium Defenders of the Chaco of Assumptionwhile it will receive on Tuesday the 19th Peru in The Bombonera.

Below is the complete list of those called up: Archers: Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa, England), Walter Benitez (PSV, Netherlands) and Geronimo Rulli (Olympique de Marseille, France).

Defenders: Nahuel Molina (Atletico Madrid, Spain), Gonzalo Montiel (Seville, Spain), Christian Romero (Tottenham, England), German Pezzella (River Plate, Argentina), Leonardo Balerdi (Olympique de Marseille), Nicolas Otamendi (Benfica, Portugal), Nehuen Perez (Porto, Portugal), Lisandro Martínez (Manchester United, England) and Nicolas Tagliafico (Lyon, France).

Midfielders: Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea, England), Leandro Paredes (Rome, Italy), Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany), Rodrigo DePaul (Atletico Madrid), Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool, England), Giovani Lo Celso (Betis, Spain), Enzo Barrenechea (Valencia, Spain), Thiago Almada (Botafogo, Brazil), Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester, England) and Nicolas Paz (Like 1907, Italy).

Fronts: Lionel Messi (Inter Miami, United States), Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United), Nicolas Gonzalez (Juventus, Italy), Julian Alvarez (Atletico Madrid), Lautaro Martínez (Inter, Italy) and Valentin Castellanos (Lazio, Italy).
