The constitutional reform initiative on the self-employed was sent by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to the Chamber of Deputies since February 5, in total a package of 20 initiatives that were ruled in the last legislature.
Although the ruling has already been sent to the board of directors, Monreal said today at a press conference: “we are going to recover the ruling on the constitutional reform.” It will be considered together with the president’s initiative.
This proposes creating the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, the Secretariat for Women, the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications, and proposes changing the name of the Secretariat of Public Function to the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat.
Regarding this package, the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) indicated that “even if it is approved this week (in committees) it could be discussed on Tuesday or Wednesday” by the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies.
“It is likely that these three could be leaving, if the qualified majorities and the state legislatures decide between November 11 and 14,” Monreal said.
At a press conference, the Morena deputy reported that there will be two sessions this Tuesday, November 5, since this afternoon the ruling on the minutes of the constitutional reforms regarding substantive equality is expected.
In the first, the opinion would be publicized and in the second it would be put up for vote by the plenary session, which would then be sent to the state congresses.
Next Wednesday the 6th the afternoon session would be dedicated to the presentation of initiatives. This week the ruling is expected on the initiative sent by President Sheinbaum and which does not affect the Constitution since they are changes to the Organic Law of Public Administration.
Monreal confirmed that on this route, on November 15, the Chamber will receive the 2025 Economic Package, which includes the Fiscal Miscellany, the Income Law and the Expenditure Budget of the Federation (PEF), which must be analyzed and discussed by both chambers. before the close of the first session.
