“What the National Assembly (AN) has done is a renewal of open letters, of open doors, in Venezuela it is not the president who imposes the Prosecutor’s Office; In the United States, yes, there the minister of justice of each government is the prosecutor,” said the head of state, Nicolás Maduro in Con Maduro+ edition 65.
He added that the AN, complying with the mandate of the Constitution, “has ratified confidence in the Attorney General (Tarek William Saab), a constituent, defender of human rights and one of the most respected officials of the Venezuelan State,” he highlighted.
He maintained that Saab has been an official who has gone head-to-head against corruption, “and against all the evils of that great weight that we have from the colonial and oil State.”
In that same order, he highlighted the trust that has been given to the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, “a man characterized by humility and honesty; He has also appointed a new Comptroller General, Dr. Gustavo Vizcaino, whose great achievement is the transformation of an institution that seemed impossible to transform, which is Saime.”
Contribution to the country
President Maduro affirmed that the recent appointments in the Citizen Power, by the AN “will provide the country with more institutional health, republican strength and greater honesty.” He stressed that with this “Citizen Power is strengthened with these appointments.”
In that sense, he praised the work that the AN has carried out to develop laws and accompany the people in the new tasks of the new times. “Renew the established power every seven years, in this case the fifth power,” he concluded.
