The Ministry of Defense, through a statement, denounced this Monday “that the blockades, in their desperate desire to confuse, alarm and provoke, to generate sensitivity and adherence to their blockade, Images and videos with shocking and moving scenes of past events are circulating on social networks.”.
Social organizations related to former President Evo Morales have blocked some of the country’s roads since last October 14 in the midst of a series of acts of violence that were generated in some unblocking operations.
In the midst of this conflict scenario, several photographs and even videos were published on social networks with reports of alleged serious injuries and even alleged deaths in the unlocking, carried out by the police and military.
But, the Ministry of Defense clarified that Those images “do not correspond to today.” nor to the veracity of recent events” and condemned the carrying out of “this media hoax.”
He also urged the Bolivian population “not to be surprised or misinformed by this false and lying communication strategy”.
“Our institutions carry out the work of clearing the roads and leaving them open with great caution, prudence and firmness, taking the greatest possible care not to affect human integrity, in the face of this blockade that for more than 20 days has been generating serious economic damage, leaving without food or medicine to a large part of the Bolivian population, violating the human rights, rights to health and life of the country’s inhabitants,” the Defense statement cites.
