Hours passed and the minister was still under observation, apparently due to a condition due to altitude sickness along with an ear condition that he already suffered from. On Monday morning the clinic in question issued a press release.
“The Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, suffered a decompensation in his health during his visit to the city of Cusco and was rushed to the Clínica Pardo facilities to receive medical attention. He arrived in the city yesterday and his complication occurred around one in the morning.so he was immediately transferred to the clinic to receive treatment”quotes the statement verbatim.
Meanwhile, All the activities that the minister had scheduled have been cancelled, such as the meeting with the Provincial Citizen Security Committee of Cusco, a meeting with the mayor of Colquemarca (Chumbivilcas) to strengthen the issue of citizen security, and a visit to a land in the district of San Sebastián, to erect a new police station in the area.
Regarding this last point, the tour to this property was still canceled yesterday, because the land that the population intended to donate to the Police is currently in dispute.
