Minister of the Interior is admitted to emergency hospitalization in Cusco after decompensation

Juan José Santiváñez

The Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, was admitted urgently to the Pardo clinic after suffering a decompensation in the early hours of today. According to official sources, Dina Boluarte’s minister is under observation, although his health status is considered stable.

Santiváñez arrived in the Imperial City the day before, and the medical complication occurred around 1:00 am this Monday. As a result of this incident, the minister’s agenda has been put on hold, raising concerns about his ability to carry out his duties in the Government.

Among the scheduled activities were the meeting of the Regional Citizen Security Council (Coresec), the signing of an agreement with the municipality of Colquemarca and a visit to a land in San Sebastián to evaluate the construction of a new police station in the town.

This is not the first episode of decompensation that the minister has faced. On August 6, during a trip to mark the Bicentennial of the Battle of Junín, Santiváñez also suffered a similar incident.

The situation has generated concern among his colleagues and citizens, who hope for a speedy recovery of the head of the Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) so that he can resume his duties and continue with security plans in the region. It is expected that additional information regarding his state of health and the development of his medical situation will be provided in the coming hours.
