The Dominican Republic signed a agreement of cooperation with El Salvadorwith the aim of strengthening bilateral collaboration in matters of exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons during the IX Week of the Energyorganized by the Latin American Organization of Energy (Olade), in Paraguay.
He agreement between both nations contemplates the exchange of experiencespublic information, technology and updated knowledge on exploration and exploitation of subsoil natural resources, such as geothermal and hydrocarbon resources.
The signature was signed by the minister of Energy and Dominican Minas, Joel Santos and the president of the Executive Hydroelectric Commission of the Lempa River of El SalvadorDaniel Álvarez Camp, who highlighted that the agreement reinforces the commitment of both nations to improve practices to develop responsible mining.
Santos Echavarría indicated that, through this agreement, ties between these nations of the region will be deepened to improve capacities, infrastructure and regulatory frameworks of this sector of vital importance for the development of economies.
“This exchange of experiences of our country with El Salvador will promote actions that contribute to improving practices to carry out mining activity that meets standards that preserve biodiversity,” said Santos, detailing that groups of job for the formulation of activities to be executed and that ensure compliance with the proposed terms.

The scope of agreement also includes good practices about the planning and execution of bidding rounds for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbonsas well as workshops job for the formulation of documents associated with the management of permits and authorizations for the exploratory process of hydrocarbons.
