The Emergency Operations Center (COE) raised a total of 21 provinces on alert due to the incidence of the trough associated with the instability of low pressure, which will cause increases in cloudiness accompanied by thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind from the morning hours.
09 provinces remain on yellow alert and rise to 12 in green, including the National District.
Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal and La Altagracia are on yellow alert.

Meanwhile, the provinces on green alert are Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, La Vega, San Cristóbal, La Romana, San Juan, Monte Cristi, Santiago, San Pedro de Macorís, San José de Ocoa, Peravia and Barahona.
In this sense, the institution recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.
The COE urged operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels on the Atlantic Coast to remain in port, due to abnormal winds and waves of 7 to 9 feet near the coast, being higher offshore.
