Abinader activa los planes emergencias por anuncio lluvias

President Luis Abinader yesterday announced a series of measures aimed at counteracting the effects of the rains that affect the country, while the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) predicts that the meteorological pattern will continue until next week throughout the national territory.

“The important thing is prevention, especially of the rains that can cause damage at this time; that the floods do not cause the loss of human life, and that is what we are working on, that the death of no Dominican is not caused and that is the prevention work that we are doing today,” said the president during a meeting with institutions of relief agencies and city councils.

For his part, the director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), Juan Manuel Méndez, said that since significant rainfall is expected today, Monday and Tuesday, the governor instructed the ministries of Public Works, Health Public, as well as the Economic Kitchens, Social Plan, city councils and others activate their emergency plans to provide immediate responses to those who need them.
