The government of Venezuela, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and through the Chancellery of the Republic, extended its words of condolence to the government and people of Serbia after the tragedy that occurred in the city of Novi Sad, where part of the structure of a train station, which claimed the lives of about 14 people and left a large number of injured.

In the text of the statement, the Venezuelan Foreign Office expresses its “most heartfelt words of pain upon learning of the tragedy that occurred in the city of Novi Sad, Vojvodina region,” after part of the exterior roof of the main railway station collapsed. of the city.

“We express our deepest words of condolence to the families of the victims and we express our solidarity with the Serbian authorities, who undertook the rescue efforts quickly to avoid further losses,” the statement said.

Likewise, it urges that the Serbian government carry out technical investigations to establish legal responsibilities for this painful mishap.

The note ends by expressing support “to the friendly government of Serbia, in the national mourning that today engulfs that sister nation, as well as to family and friends of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.”
