Santo Domingo. – As a preventive measure against trough that continues to impact the country, the Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) increased the cleaning operations of scuppers and cuneteos to maintain the proper functioning of the drainage system.
The council reported that during this Friday the suction trucks were stationed at various points such as in the La Castellana sector, on 29th and 19th East streets with the corner of Padre Castellanos.
In addition, he indicated that they cleaned the scuppers in Serralles, specifically on Pablo Casals Street on the corner of El Cayao Street.
Likewise, he highlighted that the city council brigades continue with the sanitation of sewers to prevent inflows of water from causing flooding.
In that order, he pointed out that the roads have been intervened: Leopoldo Navarro from México to San Martín, Cotubanama from Leopoldo Navarro to 27 de Febrero, Ciriaco Ramírez street from Leopoldo Navarro to 27 de Febrero and Rocco Cocchia from San Martín to Francia Avenue.
He added that the operation also reached San Martín avenues from Leopoldo Navarro to 27th, and Francia Avenue to Bohechío Street.
The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that as a result of a trough, several areas in Dominican territory remain on alert, including the National District, which is why a humid and unstable environment prevails.
Likewise, the institution foresees light to moderate rains, so the wind will remain moderate from the northwest and the trough will continue to have an impact.
Due to the rains, the council calls on the residents of the capital to do not take the garbage bags out onto the streets and in front of the homes, so that they are not swept away by the waters and prevent flooding from occurring due to blockage in the filters.
In this sense, the authorities call on citizens to remain properly informed about weather conditions through official media.
