Santo Domingo. – A trough next to a low pressure area located on the island will continue to cause rains during the weekend, especially tomorrow where it is expected that part of the national territory will have a mostly cloudy environment from morning hours, accompanied by downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind.
This was indicated by the National Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), which in its forecast highlighted that the bad weather It will have a greater impact on demarcations of the northwest, north, northeast regions, the central mountain range and the border area.
The entity said that the effects will be felt especially in the provinces of San Cristóbal, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, San José de Ocoa, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Santiago, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago Rodríguez, San Juan, Elías Piña and the great Santo Sunday.
Indomet also pointed out that there are currently three areas of downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind with the probability of cyclonic development.
One is located southwest of the Caribbean Sea, with a 70% probability of cyclonic development during the next seven days, a tropical disturbance that could increase to a tropical depression next weekend.
He added that a trough close to Puerto Rico has a 10% probability of cyclonic formation in 48 hours. While a non-tropical low pressure area several kilometers west of the Azores Islands has 40% development in 48 hours.
