The Bolivian Police found this Friday explosive devices during the unblocking operation in Parotanihighway that connects Cochabamba with the west of the country.
“During the unblocking operations in the town of Parotani, our police officers found the following materials: three two-liter plastic bottles of alcohol with water; a 40 centimeter fuse for dynamite use; a bottle and a drum of burnt oil of approximately four liters; and 50 small glass bottles,” cites a brief report from the institution.
Social organizations defending former President Evo Morales, accused of alleged rape and human trafficking, have blocked some of the country’s main roads since last October 14.
During this conflict, on several occasions the police tried to unblock the blockade, but they did not achieve their objective because the protesters resisted with the use of explosives (dynamite sticks).
However, since the early hours of this Friday, the Bolivian Police, with the support of the military, once again carried out a new unblocking operation concentrated on the highway to the west (in the event several people were injured and arrested).
The Police, in their report, assure that acts “in strict compliance with the law in a manner proportional to the violent reaction of those mobilized and ensuring the safety of those who are not part of the conflict.”
