The Spanish Sarah Sorribes advanced this Thursday to the quarterfinals of the Zapopan Open after beating the Polish Magdalena Frech 6-0 and 6-2. The champion dominated the match at will, in which she required 1 hour and 25 minutes to beat her rival.
In the first set Sorribes, 25, broke Frech’s serve three times, subduing him with precise shots from the back of the court. The Iberian took 27 of the 38 points played in the sleeve that ended in just 29 minutes.
Sorribes, number 32 in the world ranking, kept up the pace at the start of the second set until he was 2-0 up with a new break; then came the best moment for Frech, who with raises to the net was more aggressive.
