In order to support entrepreneurs and economic reactivation, and within the framework of the Bicentennial of Santa Cruz “200 Years Always Free”, the Secretariat of Institutional Management of the Government, through the Departmental Library and other directorates, carried out II Book Fair “Get rid of the scare by reading.”

The event began at 4:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Press Room of the Government House (north sidewalk of Plaza 24 de Septiembre), on the occasion of the Casco Viejo circuit of “Halloween night.”

Writers, publishers, bookstores and the Twintines Puej Art House participated, receiving visits from hundreds of students and families who were dressed in traditional “witches’ night” outfits.

Theatrical numbers with horror themes related to supernatural legends of Santa Cruz of yesteryear stood out, with the most dramatized characters being the little widow and the elf.

The most applauded acts that attracted the public was a monologue by the Secretariat of Citizen Security about the “cart of the afterlife”, which cries out for the souls of the animals burned by the fires, and promises to take them to the humans responsible for causing the fire.

The Secretary of Institutional Management, Patricia Viera, stated that this activity not only allows supporting literary endeavors, but also promotes reading, books and the rescue of Santa Cruz customs.
