Héctor Rodríguez indicated that the ideal for a school to function well is for there to be one teacher for every 20 students.
The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, urged schools and high schools throughout the country on Thursday, October 31, to keep the student registration system active to guarantee that minors who return to Venezuela have the opportunity to continue their studies.
Rodríguez, according to a note broadcast on his channel Telegrampointed out that in the state of Miranda alone there is a record of about 1,500 students who returned to the country without documents, but who must return to the classrooms.
“For this, the young person must be evaluated, included in a remedial classroom and then incorporated into the corresponding system,” he said.
Likewise, the head of the Education portfolio stated that the ideal for the proper functioning of the educational system is to have one teacher for every 20 students and one worker (mother or father, cook, worker, among others) for every 30 students.
He insisted that the development of a methodology that allows them to know how many minors are outside the educational system in each state of the country is urgently needed, just as he reiterated the importance of moving to a full class schedule. In that sense, he highlighted that 94% of the schools already complied with the guideline.
Héctor Rodríguez reiterated that it is not mandatory for retired teachers to return to the classrooms and recalled that, for those who do, there is a resolution that guarantees them not to give up their retirement.

“We are not going to fill classrooms with people who are not professionally trained.” In this sense, he urged professionals from other areas who want to teach to do the teaching component.
The Minister of Education’s speech seeks, in some way, to correct the flaws in the Venezuelan educational system with the deficit of at least 200 thousand teachers throughout the country; coupled with the unattractive nature of the career, the poor conditions of the training centers and the low salaries.
The year school 2024-2025 It began with multiple promises from the Ministry of Education: deliveries of school kits, repair of school infrastructure, a new social assistance program for teachers and a School Feeding Program (PAE) that would reach four million children. However, one month into the school year, teachers and students are still waiting for the announcements made by Héctor Rodríguez, Minister of Education, to be fulfilled.
Although the new ministerial administration has declared its intention to reform Venezuelan education, the teachers consulted by SuchWhich They indicated that the problems remain the same: the PAE is deficient in both quality and quantity, since carbohydrates are the main food they receive and are insufficient for the students; The schools are in the same deteriorating conditions as they ended the previous school year and school supplies and uniforms do not reach all students, despite the vulnerability of their conditions.
