Santo Domingo.- A tropical disturbance formed this Thursday over Puerto Rico with a potential 10% possibility of development in the next seven days, while another system continues to show signs of evolution west of the Caribbean Sea.
The first system was located over Puerto Rico at 3:00 in the afternoon on Thursday, with a large cloud field capable of generating rain over eastern provinces of the Dominican Republic, where heavy rainfall has been recorded in recent hours.

The second area of downpours shows a development potential of 60% for the next seven days, according to the forecast.
Likewise, the National Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) and the Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintain six provinces on “yellow alert” and another six on green, plus the National District.
The demarcations in yellow are Puerto Plata, Espaillat, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, where heavy rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours.
Indomet urged the population to remain attentive to the information that will be issued in the coming hours about both phenomena.
