President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva repeated, this Thursday (31), the imaging tests he has been carrying out since he suffered a fall and hit his head, on October 19th. According to the medical report from Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in Brasília, the condition is stable. A new assessment will take place in three days.
On the 19th, Lula fell in the bathroom of his official residence, at Palácio da Alvorada, hit his head and needed five stitches on the back of his head. Image tests carried out shortly after the accident showed a small hemorrhage in the president’s brain.
Since then, the images have been stable. “It showed stability in relation to previous exams. He must continue working in Brasília. At the moment, the president persists without any symptoms, and must maintain clinical monitoring and undergo new image control in three days”, says the bulletin.
The president remains under the supervision of the medical team, under the care of his personal doctor, Roberto Kalil Filho, and the President’s doctor, Ana Helena Germoglio.
After the fall, the team recommended, as a precaution, that Lula avoid long-distance travel. At the time, the president canceled his trip to participate in the BRICS Leaders’ Summit in Kazan, Russia. He was also not in São Paulo for the second round of municipal elections, on Sunday (27); the president votes in São Bernardo do Campo, in the interior of the state, and would be participating in campaign events for allies.
Lula was still expected to go to Cali, Colombia, where he would participate in the United Nations Conference on Biodiversitywhich runs until tomorrow (1st). For the moment, then, the president’s travel schedule is suspended.
