The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of La Convencion (Cusco), after the corresponding judicial process, obtained a conviction against Wilber Mayca and Cilver Bermudez, as perpetrators of the crime against the public administration – crimes committed by public officials in the form of embezzlement, in grievance of the State – Provincial Municipality of Vilcabamba.
It has been proven in court that the accused Wilber Mayca, in his capacity as municipal manager of Vilcabambaauthorized and approved internal qualifications/commissions in the name of Cilver Bermudez for a total amount of S/ 166,995, when he was not a resident of the ‘Improvement of the San Marino – Vilcabamba – La Convencion – Cusco highway’ project, so that the accused Cilver Bermúdez could collect said money and then deliver the sum of S/ 106,957 to Wilber Mayca Pozo, The latter being the one who appropriated the State’s funds for himself.
For this reason, the Supra Provincial Collegiate Criminal Court A of Cusco, unanimously, handed down a conviction of nine years and seven months of imprisonment against the former municipal officials, in addition to ordering the payment of a 486-day fine (28,348 soles) for the former manager, while for the former deputy manager the payment of a 385-day fine (23,420 soles) was ordered, in addition to paying joint and several civil reparations. of 250 thousand soles.
