SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- Miami Police confirmed this Wednesday afternoon, at a press conference, that Damián Valdez-Galloso is responsible for the murder of Cuban reggaeton singer José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, better known as El Taiger.

During a conferenceManuel Morales, Miami police chief, said: “In our minds there is no doubt that he (Damián Valdez-Galloso) is the individual responsible for the murder of Taiger,” and added that there are videos that demonstrate the commission of the crime.

However, Morales explained that the details of the case will be disclosed when the investigations conclude. The videos and the rest of the evidence will be made available to the Prosecutor’s Office.

So far there is no other person involved in this crime, he declared in response to questions from journalists Mario J. Pentón and Mario Vallejo.

“There is video that gives us evidence that the crime occurred not only in Hialeah but that Damián is responsible for the crime,” he stated.

Currently, the attacker is being held in a New York jail without the possibility of leaving, until the authorities can transfer him to Miami-Dade.

“We could not disclose details so as not to risk the integrity of the investigation. We work closely with members of the Hialeah department and Chief Jorge Fuentes. The reason why the police department continued the investigation from the beginning is that we had the information and we wanted to continue without having any type of delay in the investigation,” Morales said.

Miami Police are currently working with the state attorney to secure the correct charge on which to try him in this crime.
