The Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) has established this Monday its total disassociation with any processing network and irregular fuel transfer, and has emphasized that its operations are managed with absolute transparency.
When addressing a journalistic version originating in Spain, the president of Refidomsa, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, stressed that with regard to the company he directs, it is completely false that oil business has been handled irregularly through it.
Aguilera emphasized that, if any oil from Venezuela reaches Europe, it escapes their knowledge, but it is an absolute falsehood that it is refined in the Dominican Republic.
He recalled that in the country Refidomsa is the only company that refines hydrocarbons “and we do so by acquiring the product through established commercial channels and in a transparent manner.”
“We want to reiterate what we stated in an appearance in LA Semanal: in the efforts of President Luis Abinader, The Dominican Republic has not received a single drop of Venezuelan oil for consumption, refining or re-export; Consequently, neither directly nor indirectly Refidomsa has anything to do with these alleged operations,” he stated.
Aguilera insisted that for 52 years, oil refining in the country has been carried out in Refidomsa, which is why the link made to the Dominican Republic in the aforementioned journalistic article is a lie.
“Evidently, it is a malicious allusion that does not stand up to the slightest analysis, when we have been clear and precise in the sense that our country has not received Venezuelan oil, either directly or indirectly, for seven years,” Aguilera stated.
